16 June 2022 Puffin Tour, departing from Beaumaris Pier. A south stack coastal walk.

This is the day for puffin sightings. So far, the only puffin I know is the animation one with the same name.

Another £5 worth of coins, so I intend to make the money worth by eating and playing around Beaumaris. After we are done with the cruise, we go the opposite direction to the South Stack for some cliff walks.

But in actual fact, the boat tour did not happen. We were informed by email that Straida's crew were in isolation because one of the passenger was tested positive for Covid. Our trip was refunded because the boat rides would only resume the following week.

With this, I had to go back to the drawing board. It meant more walking at the South Stack and a pit stop at Parys Mountain.

It was a 30min ride from base to South Stack. We went through  Holyhead to reach the RSPB parking place when Ellin Tower is.

We did a straight forward walk across the headland hoping to see the North Stack. The trail was rocky but doable. We did managed to see the Holyhead pier and bay from afar. I did not plan to go to the summit; besides all of us were tired from the walk.

Back at RSPB, we had meagre amount of food because there was no gf option for me. We checked out the coastal area nearest the RSPB, and saw the 'puffins' screaming their head off on the cliff face below the lighthouse. H said it was like a school outing of many kids.

We headed to Parys mountain next. It was a 35 min drive; google brought us through the fastest route. We parked at the car parking at Parys Mountain. A small number of cars were parked there, most sunning themselves beside their cars.

Parys is featureless, brown with copper rocks and browner heather bush. We saw the windmill and the gorge left from mining. It was desolate and I did not like it.

We departed for a very late lunch at Beaumaris. The Tapas place was closed so we had fish and chips in a not so 'happening' chippy place. We went across the road to have ice cream, an expensive treat.

Beaumaris was closing down for the day. We left at 4.30pm for Llanfairpwl station, where H arranged to meet her UCL classmate, now practicing in Anglesey.

We made a pit stop along a road to take pictures of the 2 bridges. H's friend was late; he did a 40 min commute from his workplace to the station. We left them to go for their dinner date and headed back to Glan Morfa. The day was more tiring than I had thought would be.
