11 June 2022 Little Orme in Llandudno

When in doubt if a place is good, check out the food. The plan is to get some gluten free grub before heading to the hills.

Here's our walking program , almost a neat 10km on foot that day :

Nothing can go wrong when food and shopping is in a holiday program!

But breakfast plan came to naught. The apartment was cosy but jetlag prevented us from sleeping in. We woke at 6am, which was too early for the cafe (9.30am).

I 'whipped up' an excellent gluten free toast and ate with copious amount of cream cheese (£1!!). The well equipped kitchen made meal prep a complete delight.

We were the few at the Parade. Miles and miles of paved esplanade stretched from Great Orme to RNLI near Little Orme.

It was windy, cold and sky were azure blue. Lots of photos were taken just within a 1 km stretch! I never knew a pebble beach can be so beautiful.

We ventured east towards Little Orme. Then we walked up the steep road towards  Little Orme until we came to a kissing gate. That was the start of the 200m ascent.

Lil Orme is a limestone headland and its bits of limestone rocks are visible in several parts. It is underrated and attracts few walkers.

The walk up was a mixture of limestone rocks, black compacted soil and flat grassy paths towards the end. We took in Great Orme in the west and Colwyn Bay in the east. We could not make out the demarcation of bays but it was all lovely to see.

An old man and his reluctant dog made it to the  unmarked 'trig point' and so we did the same. The wind was blistering cold and gusts of 80 kmph made it impossible to take any photos. It kept whipping us from the west. I would like to call it just as treacherous. A handful of walkers had passed us by now. The top was cold and desolate.

The less talked about Orme but still exhilarating trek up

The wind! The wind!

After some wefies, we walked down to the safety of the main road.

We headed to the town center. By now we have walked 10km. Fatigue was evident; we barely talked. We had our fill of chippy at Barnacles (excellent gr cod! ). We vowed never to eat anything with chips again.

We did a little detour to Marks and Primark to load up on gifts and some blouse for myself. Satisfied, we went back to rest.

Near dinner time, we drove out to Asda, this time to stock up food for dinner. I noted that we had more snacks than ingredients for the meal. But one can never complain about too much snacks.

In the comfort of the apartment, we baked our dinner (an excellent pulled pork on a bed of apples and swede. Pat rated it 4/5). Weather was chilly and baking is the clever way to warm up the room.
