14 June 2022 Aber Falls , our last base in Wales: Glan Morfa Lodge (Llangaffo)
Forward to Anglesey! With another brave one in the expedition, we head to Aber Falls, a lunch and grocery shopping at Bangor and then to Glan Morfa (Llangaffo bound). Hopefully we can capture the Milky Way if the effect at Crickhowell did not bear fruit.
Here goes:
As though on clockwork, we checked out of Llandudno at 9am. We did a short detour to the Parade so that H can have a peek at the sea.
We took the old bridge at Conwy and headed to Aber falls. All was on cue, which was nice.

Being a doctor is tough. Look how loony this doctor is! |
A small road off the highway and we parked at Aber falls carpark for £5. We did a little track to the falls. The path was moderate, safe and mostly open land at the side of the mountain.
Aber falls feed the steam all the way down to the car park. Lots of photos later, we made our trek back. It took us less than 2 hours to do that.
Then it was off to Bangor for lunch. We spent a bit of time looking for a place to park. The high street was not exactly bustling with people. Lunch was at the spacious Clio Lounge. Over food, we did some catchup.
H got herself a pair of pants at Tresspass. It was reasonably priced at £40.
At Morissons we stocked up on food for the next 3 days. Then we crossed the Menai Strait on the suspension bridge and continued on A5. The road into Pentre was narrow flanged with hedges. After the much talked about 'catery' sign, we rocked our way into Glan Morfa.
The stone cottage was 'Gold Finch'. It was cute. We had the biggest apartment. Despite its size, the kitchen was not well equipped, much to my annoyance.
We had a hard time trying to turn on the heating rod in the toilet. A phone call to a number listed in the booking email revealed the recipient is a former owner of the Morfa. It was very annoying.
Eventually someone at the booking office called. Whatever was told was not helpful other than the fact that there is no extractor fan in the toilet. There never was a switch for it.
Dinner was awkwardly made due to the lack of sponge and baking pan.
We stayed until 1am for the illusive Milky Way. It could not been seen. What a pity!
We retired to our respective room for a good rest. I would consider today as the most sedate of all the holiday.
Tomorrow, Snowdon, here we come!
