5 June 2022 Getting over our jetlag in Watford
While Dr H participates in the Jubilee, we plan to use the Sunday to recuperate from our jetlag. I have a dinner booked at Tarboush , Market Street Watford. It will be our meeting with Dr H for the 1sst time since our Chinese New Year in Singapore.
Here is the planned day escape. It is to look for great breakfast, a neat looking cathedral and a little walk all within a short drive from Watford.
Our first Sunday is off to a soggy start. Rain over the night! Good thing we had dry weather yesterday. As planned, we managed to get to St Albans and enjoyed an all day parking facility at London Road NCP carpark for £1.
We had a very good brunch at Street Cafe, with the best gluten free bread I have eaten. It was a popular cafe, very beautiful. Pat did remarked that it looks a bit like Food Republic with its fake crystal chandelier. I like the vibe, the decor and its service.
We roam the beautiful grounds of St Albans cathedral, her organ music and amazing architecture. Then it was another fascinating hour or 2 at St Albans Museum. The highlight was the afternoon tea at the cafe with seating at the old court house. It was the best play believe tea ever.
We napped a bit back in the Inn and then headed to Tarboush for dinner. Dr H got off duty from the Jubilee late but we managed to stretch dinner time until 9pm so that she could join us. It was hectic for her to walk from Watford underground to the dinner place.
Gifts exchanged and dinner eaten, we got her back home. It would be the last night in Watford. We will leave her to her own devices while we head to the west, seeking new adventures.
